Activities allowed
Your exact activity wording must appear on the authority’s list. It shapes your licence, contracts and banking.
UAE jurisdictions
The right free zone is the one that supports your activity, team, clients and bank—not simply the most familiar name. Compare eleven popular authorities below, or let the finder shortlist them for you.
How to choose
Your exact activity wording must appear on the authority’s list. It shapes your licence, contracts and banking.
Workspace usually sets how many residence visas the company can support. Plan your team before choosing a package.
Flexi-desk, serviced office, dedicated office or warehouse—each suits a different stage and activity.
Banks judge your business model and substance first, but familiarity with the authority can reduce questions.
Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman or Ras Al Khaimah affects your address and where some in-person steps happen.
If UAE mainland customers matter, check the distributor, branch and permit routes before you commit.

Questions answered
There is no single best free zone. The right choice depends on your activities, visa needs, workspace, client base, bank perception and the emirate you want to be linked to. We compare these factors before recommending.
Free zone companies generally trade inside their zone and internationally. Mainland trading usually needs a distributor, a branch or a permit; Dubai has introduced routes for some free zone companies to operate on the mainland. We confirm the current position for you.
Many licence steps can be completed remotely. Residence visa steps such as the medical test and biometrics usually require you to be in the UAE, and some banks ask to meet you.
It can. The emirate affects your business address, where some immigration steps happen and sometimes how clients perceive you. You can generally live anywhere in the UAE with a UAE residence visa.
Not automatically. UAE corporate tax currently applies at 0% on taxable income up to AED 375,000 and 9% above. Qualifying free zone persons can get 0% on qualifying income only if they meet every condition. Registration and filing are still required.
We start with your activity list, visa and office needs, clients and banking plans, shortlist two or three authorities, and explain the trade-offs in a written roadmap before you pay government fees.
